Cosplay

Cosplay is one of my favorite hobbies. I started cosplaying in 2004 after going to my first anime convention. The creator of my favorite anime fan site was a cosplayer and it seemed like a really fun and cool hobby. I was always a crafty person so it was a perfect fit!

I like cosplaying cute and strong girls and characters that make me feel joy. Even if no one knows who the character is, I’ll still go for it because its a character that means something to me. I am entirely self taught, everything from sewing to prop making. While I have entered a competition or two (no wins), I cosplay mostly for the fun of it. I have found I really love making props!

Some of my favorite costumes include: Star Butterly (Star vs The Forces of Evil), Sakura Kinomoto (Cardcaptor Sakura) and Fumi (Queen’s Quality). Cosplay is a hobby so there is no pressure to be the best. It’s all about having fun and dressing up as characters I love!
